Membership Update - Annual Membership Meeting/Christmas Social.
WCTA REACHES 200 MARK WITH 222 MEMBERS!
The Wimberley Community Tennis Association (WCTA) is proud to have you visit our web site. Since our initial membership drive at the Wimberley Texan Tennis tournament in October, 2003, we have grown to 222 members as of October 2007. This includes 51 Junior members.

Click on the links to Member Spotlight, Patron Members and Beginner Lessons for more information.

THE WCTA 2007 ANNUAL MEETING AND CHRISTMAS SOCIAL WAS HELD ON DECEMBER 12, 2007 at the Red Corral Ranch.

Bob Kerrigan, President, gave his annual report on the status of our Association in 2007, as well as recognized the various committee chairs who volunteered their time to help us grow! A huge, hearty thank you to them. There were other volunteers who helped during the year for various events and they are mentioned throughout this web site. A complete listing of the committee chairpersons is on the Member Spotlight page.

WEBSITE UPDATES ARE ONGOING, PLEASE COME BACK AND VISIT THIS SITE.

WCTA's "Adopt-A-Court" - TENNIS IN THE PARK development project underway!
2007 Newks' Weekend for Two Adults raffle winner is WCTA member, John Schick!
Now that the Adopt-A-Light Project has been completed and all six tennis courts on Texan Blvd. have lights, WCTA's new "Adopt-A-Court" Project is underway. Plans are to develop new courts and/or renovate existing courts. OUR BIGGEST EFFORT ON THIS BEHALF IS THE "TENNIS IN THE PARK" PROJECT WHICH FOCUSES ON ADDING SIX NEW COURTS AT THE WIMBERLEY BLUE HOLE PARK PROJECT. WCTA HAS LETTERS OF SUPPORT AVAILABLE - PLEASE CALL 847-5161 FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND/OR TO MAKE A DONATION!

John Newcombe's Tennis Ranch has again graciously donated a weekend for two adults at one of their tennis clinics. (The 2007 raffle winner is WCTA member John Schick. Photos to follow).

According to Lisa Crane, last year's winner, "this was one of the most fun experiences of my tennis career! The instructors were so patient and we made many new friends at all levels of play. I can't wait to go back with my husband!" (Apparently Lisa and her friend Melanie SanMarco had an agreement, that if one of them won, they promised to take the other with them - much to the chagrine of their husbands.) Not only did they have a good time, but their tennis game has definitely improved as well.

Monies raised from the 2006 raffle will go toward new and/or additional court development, as will sponsorships and donations for our annual Spring Classic tennis tournament held May 20 & 21, 2006.

IT'S A GOOD THING LISA CRANE HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME AT NEWK'S LAST YEAR, AS SHE WON THE RAFFLE AGAIN THIS YEAR. FORTUNATELY, WE TOOK PHOTOS OF THE "DRAWING" AND HAD LOTS OF WITNESSES! ALTHOUGH EMBARRASSED BY HER SECOND WIN, LISA LOOKS FORWARD TO TAKING HER HUSBAND, LES, WITH HER THIS YEAR! Congratulations Lisa!!
